Who we are
Anchorage Music & Dance Center is celebrating 25 years of private & group music instruction and 10 years of dance!
Our instructors have danced professionally and taught dance classes around the world. Each one has extensive teaching experience including: University level programs; High school & middle school classes & productions; & Preschool dance classes. They also have choreographed professional shows; founded non-profit dance collectives and participated in dance competitions.
Annie has been dancing since she was four years old. She has studied acrobatics, tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, modern, character & Irish dance. Being the third woman from Alaska to ever qualify for the World Irish Dance Championships was her dream come true! She also received top solo awards from Spotlight Dance Competition and 5-6-7-8 Showtime Dance Competition where she was invited to compete and participate in Dance World Cup, the Paris Summer Dance Tour and audition for Cirque du Soleil. She began teaching and choreographing in 2009 which she soon discovered was her passion; she especially loves teaching kids! She also participated in both Music & Dance Machine & choreographed for Dance Machine, directed by Janet Carr-Campbell. Annie is working on completing her degree in Applied Technologies Leadership with a minor in General Arts at UAA. Annie teaches Ballet, Jazz, and Tap Classes and is the Dance Director here at Anchorage Music & Dance Center.
Creacy Boggess has been dancing since a young age by participating in school dance programs, church praise dances, drill teams, and cheerleading. In addition to taking dance classes and performing around Anchorage, she became involved in West High's dance program, where she began to grow more as a dancer and a teacher. Creacy has training in Hip Hop, Modern & Jazz dance. She especially loves to teach these genres to younger students. She has had the pleasure of learning from and dancing with Lori Bradford, Leslie Kimiko Ward, Corinthia McCoy, and Brian Jeffery. As well as, sara von gillern of So You Think You Can Dance (S3), Dominic Sandoval & Hokuto "Hok" Konishi (SYTYCD S3 & America's Best Dance Crew: Quest Crew S3 winners), and Ryan Feng (ABDC: Quest Crew). Creacy also teaches Angelina Ballerina Ballet classes here, and has trained with the creator of the Angelina Ballerina Program, Beverly Spell. Creacy is working toward a BA in Marketing & and a Minor in Dance and has choreographed pieces for UAA's "New Dances" annual show. Creacy is a certified ZUMBA® instructor & teaches Zumba for Kids, Family Zumba & Adult Zumba Party here at Anchorage Music & Dance Center, as well as Jazz, Hip Hop, Hip Hop/Modern & Musical Theatre for ages 3-13.
Carly has been dancing since she was four years old. She has studied ballet, lyrical, jazz, hip-hop, and musical theatre. She discovered her passion for the performing arts in the local summer camp the Music Machine (directed by Janet Car-Campbell) and participated in the program for 14 years. She has volunteered in a kindergarten room for 7 years and loves working with children! She is attending UAA under their honors program and is working towards her degree in accounting. In her free time, she studies music focusing on the viola and vocals. Carly started out as Dance Teacher Assist in in 2018 and now is Lead Teacher teaching Angelia Ballerina Ballet classes as well as Beginning Ballet. She enjoys sharing her love of dance with beginning students!
Mary Ann has been dancing since she was three years old and began tap and ballet with Sue Cottom’s School of Dance and continued gymnastics with her daughter at Julie Cottom’s School of Dance and Gymnastics. She continued ballet instruction with Anita Beno’s School of Ballet. After attending college, having her two daughters and moving to California, she started dancing with them at Kyla’s School of Highland dance. Mary Ann competed from Beginner through Premier/Professional level and has danced for many performances and competitions in the Western portion of the US Some of her favorites include a Celtic performance for the Sacramento Symphony and competing on the Queen Mary in Long Beach. Her younger daughter was set on learning Irish step dance and they began classes with Farrell-Martin School of Irish Dance and began competing throughout California and Colorado. She taught Celtic fusion classes for Centerstage Dance Academy in El Dorado Hills, CA and has done volunteer work over the last decade at various military posts as well as currently forming the Arctic Thistle Highland Dance troupe here in Alaska. She works as a Senior Account Representative for an insurance broker and spends her free time with her wee dog, Verona.

We are a unique school offering quality private & group music and dance classes at one convenient location. Multiple students from the same family can take private or group music lessons and dance classes on the same day. That means parents only have to drive to one location for everyone's lessons & classes. What a time saver for the entire family!
We work with most all homeschool & charter schools in the State of Alaska. We are a direct bill vendor which means we invoice the school, so there is no "out-of-pocket" expense for the family!
Our network of schools include: Family Partnership; Frontier Charter School; PAIDEIA; IDEA; Mat-Su Central; Twindly Bridge; Denali Peak, PACE, CyberLynx & Raven.
